About Us – Plumstead Islamic Centre
Plumstead Islamic Centre is a vibrant and welcoming hub dedicated to serving the spiritual, educational, and social needs of the community. Established to foster faith, unity, and positive engagement, our centre is committed to nurturing spiritual growth, promoting community cohesion, and strengthening interfaith relationships.
The idea of opening the Islamic Centre was put forward in August 2022, and construction work began in February 2023. After months of dedication and effort, the centre was first opened to the public in September 2023, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the local Muslim community. Finally, on February 6, 2024, Plumstead Islamic Centre was officially registered as a *CIO – Foundation*, solidifying its status as a key institution for worship, learning, and community support.
Located in the heart of Plumstead, our mosque is open to visitors throughout the year, welcoming schools, colleges, universities, and organizations eager to learn about Islam and the role of the masjid in the community. We provide a range of essential services, including the five daily congregational prayers, Jumu’ah (Friday prayers), educational programs, and community initiatives.
For the public benefit, we are dedicated to the advancement of the Islamic faith in the surrounding area, particularly through education. Our educational programs focus on *Quranic studies, Tafsir (interpretation of the Quran), and Arabic-related subjects*, ensuring that individuals of all ages can deepen their understanding of Islam in an inclusive and supportive environment.
With dedicated spaces for worship, learning, and social activities, Plumstead Islamic Centre is more than just a place of prayer—it is a cornerstone for *knowledge, unity, and support*. We actively engage in interfaith dialogues, charity projects, and cultural events, ensuring that our doors remain open to all who seek guidance, understanding, and a sense of belonging.
Join us as we continue our mission to serve and uplift the community, guided by the values of *faith, compassion, and togetherness*.
